Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at BrookHaven Retirement Community as a Nurse Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality care, and providing leadership to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff to ensure high-quality care and services to residents.
  • Assume responsibility for the Assisted Living unit in the absence of the Director.
  • Administer personal hygienic, preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitation services to residents.
  • Coordinate nursing care provided by other disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with Director, staff, and families regarding resident conditions, staffing issues, and concerns.
  • Manage daily work assignments, ensure timely completion, and prevent overtime.
  • Round with physicians, share information, and transcribe orders.
  • Monitor faxes and communications to physicians, ensure prompt order signing.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Identify and anticipate resident and staff needs, provide intervention as necessary.
  • Maintain weekly charting on residents receiving skilled nursing care.
  • Orient new admissions, ensure systems are operational for care and comfort.
  • Participate in hiring, evaluation, and termination processes.
  • Train, supervise, and provide ongoing in-service education to personnel.
  • Administer corrective action when policies are broken.
  • Assist nurse and unit personnel in interpreting and planning assignments.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and employee records.
  • Responsible for proper use, care, and treatment of unit equipment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing and currently licensed/registered with the Ohio State Board of Nursing to practice.
  • Familiarity with organization, functions, policies, and procedures, as well as state regulations related to nursing services and Assisted Living rules.
  • Commitment to the standards of gerontological nursing and licensed to administer medications according to state laws.
  • Current CPR certification.
