Responsibilities

As a Refrigeration Start-up Technician, you will be responsible for the start-up of supermarket refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely service to our customers. You will also assist with Energy Optimization (EO) projects, working with advanced solid-state controls, oil systems safety controls, mechanical sub-cooling, and other specialized equipment.

  • Perform evacuations of parallel racks after verifying pressure tests.
  • Perform all EMS wiring and programming for various manufacturers.
  • Perform full start-up of new parallel refrigeration systems and individual systems.
  • Lead small projects, such as single case and condenser changeouts.
  • Assist with EO projects, including retro-commissioning, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects.
  • Collaborate with local branch Service and Construction Managers on problematic stores, training, and other areas as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school.
  • 3+ years of experience with supermarket EMS systems.
  • EMS Certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration, especially with parallel rack systems.
  • Experience and proficient knowledge of supermarket refrigeration.
  • EPA I and II Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Expert knowledge of refrigeration, ice machines, and electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and prioritize work schedules.
