Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams program. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to individuals in crisis, utilizing your expertise in crisis intervention and peer-to-peer support.
Responsibilities- Provide non-clinical assistance to consumers after the initial crisis has been resolved.
- Lead engagement efforts and conduct crisis assessments in the community.
- Must be trained in crisis intervention and have at least 2 years of continuous recovery from an SMI or SUD diagnosis.
- Required to participate in DMHAS-approved de-escalation, mental health crisis, substance use crisis, and suicide training.
- Must possess a certification from a recognized credentialing entity, such as the Addiction Professional Certification Board or the Mental Health Association in New Jersey.
- Required to participate in CPR and First Aid training and perform techniques as needed.
- Travel using agency vehicle required; employee must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive an agency-owned vehicle.
The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams program operates throughout Burlington and Mercer Counties, providing mobile crisis outreach response services for adults through the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Our teams work to prevent hospitalization and law enforcement intervention when possible, providing immediate and timely crisis intervention services and de-escalation and stabilization services in the community.
