Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $77,000 - $163,000 per year, based on experience levels, location, education, and key skills.

Job Description

We are seeking a junior to mid-level Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our Effector Power (EP) Team in Tucson, AZ. The successful candidate will have power electronics knowledge and design robust power systems.

The EP Department develops Telemetry and Flight Termination products, power systems from all up round to the lowest level power regulation, servo electronics, and low noise mixed signal electronics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion circuitry.
  • Architect circuit card-level power schemes and develop related requirements.
  • Help see circuit card development through its design phases.
  • Drive to meet schedule concerns and define schedules for circuit level tasking.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities.
  • Presentation of work product to functional and program leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced STEM degree with 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with non-isolated converter topologies.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
  • Analog or digital electronics design experience, including FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Robust design and analysis experience with analog or digital power converter design.
  • Conceptual familiarity with transformer and inductor design considerations in power electronics circuits.
  • Experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
