About the Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Denver Public Schools. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Cleaning and Sanitation:** Clean, dust, sweep, sanitize, mop, scrub, vacuum, and shampoo facility surfaces and floors to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • **Grounds Maintenance:** Perform a wide variety of grounds work, including minor irrigation system repair, snow removal, sweeping of walkways, landscape trimming and cultivating, edging, and mowing grass.
  • **Facility Maintenance:** Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, facility systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the facility does not deteriorate.
  • **Security and Safety:** Check and verify facility security and safety by locking doors, windows, and gates, and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • **Education:** Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • **Training:** Successfully complete and pass a paid housekeeping course (20 hour course over 5 days).
  • **Physical Demands:** Have the ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • **Residency:** Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
