About the Role

This position is for a RN-Speciality Clinic ENT at Boys Town National Research Hospital. In this role, you will utilize a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Your goal will be to provide continuing health care to individuals, families, and communities.

The schedule for this role will include full-time, day hours with five 8-hour shifts or four 9-hour shifts plus one 4-hour shift.

You will be working at our Pacific Street Clinic location.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct care to patients and their families in the area of practice, ensuring individualized attention and care.
  2. Demonstrate age-specific competency in patient assessments, prioritizing care based on needs and including data from parents/guardians when necessary.
  3. Implement nursing care activities according to patient needs, as directed by medical providers and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  4. Assist providers with office procedures, preparing supplies, medications, and instruments, and participating in time-outs and informed consents.
  5. Provide education specific to patients' health issues, considering cultural, cognitive, emotional, and social influences, and ensuring readiness to learn before discharge.
  6. Arrange additional services, such as lab, imaging, home health, speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as indicated by providers.
  7. Follow up on activities like lab and imaging orders, execution, results, and provider recommendations.
  8. Complete documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
  9. Participate in educational activities to expand knowledge of assigned specialty, including physiology and pathology.
  10. Contribute to process improvement, quality initiatives, and compliance with regulations and accreditation requirements.
  11. Promote a positive team environment, willing to float to other specialty clinics as needed.
Requirements
  1. A Registered nurse with a current state license.
  2. BLS certification required.
  3. Prior experience using a personal computer and electronic medical records.
