Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for software engineering.
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term software engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring a solid understanding of software engineering, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain large, complex queries, including analytic and aggregation clauses.
  • Design and implement large, partitioned tables and query optimization strategies.
  • Utilize PL/SQL, including Oracle Object types and Pipelined Table Functions, to enable specific privileged operations while restricting the privileges of application user accounts.
  • Perform partition operations/maintenance, including creating, merging, dropping, and exchanging partitions.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience with large, partitioned tables and query optimization.
  • Ability to read, write, debug, tune, and maintain large, complex queries.
  • Experience with PL/SQL, including Oracle Object types and Pipelined Table Functions.
  • Familiarity with the Oracle privilege model and how to use PL/SQL procedures to enable specific privileged operations.
  • Experience with partition operations/maintenance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience building and supporting large batch systems.
  • Familiarity with DBMS_PARALLEL_EXECUTE.
  • Familiarity with partition-based procedural parallelism.
