Job Summary

The Medical Technician will provide exceptional personal care services, assistance, and support to residents while administering proper medication passing techniques. This role requires a warm and engaging approach to ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, and mobility, as directed by their individual service plans.
  • Monitor changes in residents' functional status and personal care needs, documenting observations and advising supervisors and/or clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Administer proper medication passing procedures to residents.
  • Assist in the development and updating of Resident Care Plans.
  • Encourage resident participation in scheduled programs and activities.
  • Conduct one-on-one or small group activities as assigned by supervisor in conjunction with the Vibrant Living Director.
  • Assist with laundry and light housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Assist with serving meals and bussing tables as needed.
  • Chaperone activities outside the community as needed.
  • Monitor the community and take appropriate action to keep the environment safe, clean, and attractive for residents, guests, and co-workers.
  • Participate in and attend all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and Wickshire's mission policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulatory training as required.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of Resident care experience preferred.
  • Medical Technician Certification required. Maintain state licensing requirements, where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect and communicate effectively, in English, with diverse populations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including proper grammar and professional writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer orientation to older adults.
