Children\u0027s Garden Early Learning Center Inc. is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our team. As the Head of School, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Maintain an attractive and conducive learning environment.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of school facilities.
  • Recommend and implement necessary changes to support student programs and maintain high standards of safety and appearance.
  • Manage rental contracts and terms.
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with the Board of Directors on all school activities.
  • Maintain close communication with the Board Chair to ensure transparency and avoid surprises.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the board and staff, facilitating effective communication.
  • Make policy recommendations to the board and collaborate on strategic initiatives.
  • Determine staffing needs for both teaching and non-teaching positions.
  • Hire, supervise, and develop outstanding employees.
  • Prepare and manage employee contracts, job descriptions, and the employee handbook.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for all staff members.
  • Manage employee dismissals when necessary.
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with worker\u0027s compensation, state, and federal tax requirements.
  • Develop an efficient staffing structure that supports the center\u0027s programs.
  • Set and execute enrollment objectives to maintain optimal student numbers.
  • Stay current on effective marketing techniques and oversee the creation of promotional materials.
  • Establish and manage standards for student admissions and dismissals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve programming to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design, implement, and manage student programs.
  • Set and oversee the school calendar.
  • Establish standards for academic achievement, character development, and social skills.
  • Maintain comprehensive records as required by the school, its constituents, and regulatory bodies.
  • Foster strong connections with parents, encouraging meaningful participation in school activities.
  • Maintain an open-door policy for parent communication via in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails.
  • Lead parent orientation and educational programs in collaboration with teachers.
  • Develop the annual budget and present it to the board for approval.
  • Monitor and manage the approved budget, including profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow, receivables, and expenses.
  • Collaborate with the bookkeeper to review financials monthly and report to the board.
  • Recommend tuition rates, employee salaries, and benefits.
  • Review and maintain insurance policies.
  • Ensure progress toward financial goals.
  • Advise the board on fundraising needs and strategies.
  • Set realistic fundraising goals and develop a disciplined fundraising plan with the board.
  • Collaborate with the board on fundraising activities and participate in donor cultivation.
  • Conduct funding research, write grant proposals, and submit them for consideration.
  • Develop systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson for the school.
  • Promote effective communication at all levels.
  • Address legal and ethical issues as they arise.
  • Promote professional development and community involvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and other educational institutions.
  • Qualifications:
    • Education:
      • Bachelor\u0027s degree in education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
      • Advanced degree and early childhood education credentials are highly desirable.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in school administration, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
      • At least 1 year of experience in nonprofit or corporate management.
    • Knowledge and Skills:
      • Strong background in early childhood education.
      • Director qualifications as required by the Department of Social Services.
      • Experience in nonprofit administration and management.
      • Fundraising experience.
      • Ability to build positive relationships and establish rapport with families and staff.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Strong time management and public speaking abilities.
      • Proficiency in computer skills, with website development experience preferred.
