About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Williams-Sonoma, University Village. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a high level of visual merchandising standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized service to customers, ensuring a positive and lasting impression
  • Accurately and efficiently process transactions, sales, returns, and exchanges
  • Ensure accurate ringing and pricing of merchandise, using price overrides when necessary
  • Manage customer expectations, clearly communicating product information, care, maintenance, and delivery
  • Affirm client purchases and offer additional merchandise suggestions to complement and complete initial selections
  • Ensure clients are aware of all promotions that may impact sales
  • Share information and testimonials about products, in-store events, and workshops that enhance the customer experience
  • Maintain visual standards and supplies of the cash wrap area
  • Maximize resources to get customers what they want and resolve any issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, complying with all Company policies and procedures
  • Foster an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our People-First Philosophy
Requirements
  • Love to close sales and articulate a proven ability to exceed goals
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and constantly look for ways to think outside the box
  • Passionate about creating lasting relationships with customers by capturing contacts, reconnecting, and promoting all of the inspiration, events, and services Williams-Sonoma has to offer
  • Know what questions to ask customers to understand their personal style and needs
  • Succeed in a team environment while able to work independently and manage your own
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service role
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate a POS system
  • Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 pounds, while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
