KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct thorough preparation and preliminary assessment of individual, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns;
  • Prepare estate, trust, and gift tax returns; familiarity with estate and trust matters is advantageous;
  • Manage the preparation of intricate tax returns, including those involving consolidation, multi-state, and international complexities;
  • Support year-end tax strategy and quarterly estimations; assist in year-end forecasts for high-net-worth clients;
  • Address inquiries from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other tax authorities, facilitating communication for local, state, and federal tax audits;
  • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to interns and junior staff, fostering open dialogue with management;
  • Engage in tax research initiatives on diverse tax matters and contribute to training sessions on related subjects;
  • Effectively manage project timelines to ensure timely delivery of work products in alignment with client and management expectations, while maintaining transparency regarding task and project progress;
  • Continuously enhance and update knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations and guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in public accounting or a blend of corporate tax and public accounting;
  • Possession of CPA Certification;
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, CCH ProSystem Engagement, CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Axcess Document, and CCH Axcess Workstream is a plus.
