Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Gills Point S Tire & Auto. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, preparing complex financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all financial information.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, prepare and review journal entries and adjustments.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Involved in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial deadlines are met and accurate financial data is reported.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform and review complex account reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Audit and Compliance: Prepare for and support internal and external audits, ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitor budget performance and report on variances.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and review tax filings, ensure timely submission, and assist with tax planning and compliance issues.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, train and mentor staff accountants and other team members.
- Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives, collaborate with other departments to enhance financial operations and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or equivalent is preferred.
- 3-6 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in public accounting or audit.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
- Remote office setting with standard working hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end close.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
