Rugby Server

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rugby Server to join our team at The Townsend Hotel. As a Rugby Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

• Take guest orders and ensure proper presentation and timing of all food and beverages.
• Open and close guest checks, utilizing proper cash handling procedures.
• Utilize computerized P.O.S. operations and maintain knowledge of our menu and wine pairings.
• Communicate effectively with guests, expediter, bartender, server assistants, and management.
• Anticipate and meet guest needs, providing recommendations to increase check average.
• Execute table side preparations in a proper and efficient manner.
• Understand the Rugby Grille seating chart, table numbers, and seat numbers in the dining room.
• Address guests as they arrive and establish a positive rapport throughout the dining experience.
• Offer, describe, and present specials and items of interest to guests.
• Attend pre-meal meetings and perform all necessary side work throughout the shift.
• Monitor assigned tables in the dining room to anticipate and provide ongoing service.
• Provide feedback to management, including compliments, problems, and complaints.

• Minimum of 2 years of fine dining experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate with guests in English.
• TIPS alcohol certification required.

• Requires full mobility for the entire duration of the shift, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, and lifting.
• Ability to use stairs and/or service elevators.
• Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 30 lbs.
