Job Summary:

The Putnam County Schools, WV is seeking a highly qualified English Teacher - Language Arts Specialist to join our team at Hurricane High School. As a key member of our educational community, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive English program in accordance with state law and West Virginia Board of Education and county policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement in English and Language Arts
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
• Provide support and guidance to students in the development of their language and literacy skills
• Stay current with best practices in English education and incorporate technology to enhance instruction

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in English Education or related field
• West Virginia Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate endorsed for English, English/language arts, or language arts at the grade levels applicable to this assignment
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with differentiated instruction and technology integration
