The 6 West Med Surg Department is seeking a dedicated Full-Time LPN for Night Shift.
Hours: 7p-7a
This role comes with a competitive sign-on bonus. Whether you are a recent graduate eager to start your nursing journey or an experienced LPN looking for a new opportunity, this is your chance to thrive at UPMC.
Incentives:
- New graduates (0 to less than 1 year experience) will receive a one-time $10,000 bonus for a two-year commitment.
- Experienced LPNs (1 or more years' experience) will receive a one-time $12,500 bonus for a two-year commitment.
Role Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, utilizing your nursing judgment, knowledge, and skills to provide exceptional care and IV therapy in accordance with UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and state regulations. You will engage in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care in various settings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed UPMC provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care by exercising sound judgment and collaborating with healthcare team members.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and healthcare providers regarding patient needs and changes in condition.
- Document patient care comprehensively to ensure effective communication among caregivers.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout their care journey.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the orientation of new staff.
- Maintain a balanced approach to work and personal life while modeling safe work practices.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- 0 - 2 years of nursing experience.
- Completion of an IV therapy curriculum within 4 months of hire.
- Ability to assess and respond to the unique needs of patients across the lifespan.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
