Job Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist plays a vital role in the imaging department, responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using CT equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners and associated software to produce images of various anatomical structures, ensuring optimal image quality and clarity for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety during the scan.
  • Administer IV contrast agents as per protocol, monitor patient reactions, and take necessary actions in case of adverse effects.
  • Verify the quality of CT images, ensuring all necessary views are captured, and transfer images to the PACS for interpretation by the radiologist.
  • Perform regular checks and preventive maintenance on CT equipment, reporting any malfunctions or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure radiation protection protocols are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self, maintaining compliance with safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any relevant details in the patient's medical record.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
  • Valid state license for Radiologic Technology (if required by state).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a CT Tech is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a hospital or imaging center environment.
  • Requires standing for long periods, moving patients, and handling medical equipment.
  • Potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
