Position Overview

The National Coalition of Healthcare Recruiters is seeking an experienced Laboratory Director to lead the Blood Bank Department at a prominent general medical and surgical hospital in the greater Chicago area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operations of the blood bank department.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee training and competency assessments for laboratory staff.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • One of the following certifications:
    • Medical Technologist
    • Medical Laboratory Scientist
    • Blood Bank Certification
    • Specialist in Blood Bank Certification
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience in a laboratory setting.
