Cafe Server

Job Title: Cafe Cashier

Department: The Hearth

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: 10:30am - 7pm with a rotating schedule that includes working every other weekend

Reports to: Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director

Job Responsibilities:

1. Deliver exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
2. Operate the cash register and point of sale system to ensure accurate transactions.
3. Count money and make deposits, ensuring all shortages are accounted for.
4. Ensure all food and beverage sales are accurately recorded.
5. Set up stations according to meal periods and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
6. Answer telephone and assist residents with requests.
7. Will accept meal requests, serve food and drinks, and interact with patrons.
8. Will serve proper food portions and maintain table setting standards.
9. Will follow all cleaning details daily and record.
10. Will cross-train in other dietary roles to provide coverage as needed.
11. Reports all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident reactions to the appropriate Licensed personnel in a timely manner.
12. Responds and reacts in a kind, polite, and professional manner to residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervision.
13. Responsible for protecting any confidential information concerning residents, family, and/or the organization.
14. Must demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to all Safety procedures and facility Fire, Disaster, and Bomb Threat procedures.
15. Adheres to all organizational, departmental, and nursing procedures in the performance of position responsibilities.
16. Must attend organizational or departmental conferences, meetings, and/or in-services as scheduled.
17. May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements

Physical Requirements:

Continuous walking and/or standing, most lifting is of light nature but must be able to lift 25 lbs and must be able to push/pull wheeled serving carts and serving stations weighing 5 to 500 pounds.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must have computer knowledge including Windows, Email, MS Office.
