Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and staff performance.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current RN licensure in Nebraska or a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing.
  • Basic life support/CPR certification, first aid course, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a locked psychiatric care facility and a Correctional facility, with potential exposure to biohazards and risk of injury from assaultive/abusive patients. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
