GED Instructor

Job Summary

EDSI Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced GED Instructor to join our team. As a GED Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to adult learners preparing for the General Educational Development (GED) test.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans to help students achieve their educational and career goals.
• Administer assessment testing and compile participant assessment data to ensure students gain necessary information to successfully obtain a GED.
• Provide one-on-one instruction, facilitate group learning/tutoring, and assist students with completing tasks.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student participation and respect.
• Provide individualized support and guidance to students, including academic advising and motivation to enhance learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
• Enter services into the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) state system of record.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, training, human resources, liberal arts, or a related area is preferred.
• Previous experience teaching young adult learners is preferred.
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude.
• Experience in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
