RN MedSurg II Nurse

The RN Clinical Nurse is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence within our healthcare system. As a RN Clinical Nurse, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive individualized care that meets their unique needs and preferences.
Core Responsibilities- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care, using evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure that care is individualized and coordinated.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others (as appropriate) using effective communication methods, such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, and just-in-time and planned patient teaching.
- Practice using current clinical practice standards and promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care, including initiating and/or leading such activities and promoting an inter/intra-disciplinary process.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines) to ensure that there is a current and future qualified workforce, modeling the professional practice of nursing and creating a healthy work environment.
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing, participating in activities such as value analysis as part of the decision-making process in evaluating patient care products.
- Uphold all healthcare system/organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies put forth by this job description and professional association, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements and standards.
Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing - Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact, Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional
Additional License(s) and Certification(s)Required Minimum ExperienceMinimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
Required Minimum SkillsAbility to read, write, and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care, and holds basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills, along with customer service skills required. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner. Possess excellent time management skills, practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills, and possesses strong critical thinking skills.
