Automotive Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at Pep Boys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing tire and automotive services to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling system, suspension, and alignment services.
- Perform maintenance services and job duties of lower-level technicians.
- Effectively communicate technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical individuals, including employees and customers.
- Stay up-to-date with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous learning and training.
- Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- 2 or more ASE certifications (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes) preferred.
- Section 609 certification preferred.
- State Inspection license if applicable.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and placing merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing and walking for long periods.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
- Effective communication in person, by telephone, or using telecommunications equipment.
The pay range for this position is between $24.00 to $37.15 per hour, based on experience.
