Job Title: Bilingual Financial Management Coach

Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Financial Management Coach to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing technical support and long-term financial sustainability to center and home-based child care businesses in Southeast Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical assistance to program leaders to support long-term financial sustainability of the program.
  • Collect baseline data regarding business systems and metrics.
  • Support provider onboarding with selected child care management software.
  • Review provider data to ensure ongoing use of system, analyze provider financial metrics, and offer coaching around areas needing improvement.
  • Ensure that providers use the CCMS to invoice families, collect tuition payments from families, and to invoice subsidy.
  • Review provider data to ensure program compliance in terms of child/family and staff recordkeeping.
  • Review program HR policies and procedures and make recommendations designed to support retention and reduce turnover.
  • Support providers in developing and implementing effective marketing plans to ensure high levels of enrollment.
  • Review program parent handbook/fee policies/parent enrollment contract to ensure that programs clearly articulate and implement policies that lead to full fee collection.
  • Collect ongoing data to measure impact on provider use of CCMS, provider key financial metrics, and provider HR metrics.
  • Assist providers in establishing financial systems to ensure good budgeting practices, the availability of timely, accurate financial reports, and the collection and analysis of cost of care by age group data.
  • Provide program services in a manner that reflects best practice in adult learning.
  • Recognize the need to maintain a dual focus on relationships with participants and program activities by fostering an assets or strengths-based approach.
  • Provide an individualized consultant approach to fit the program leader's learning style and identified needs.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual, and role differences among persons and children served.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of improvement goals which are used to guide the work with participants.
  • Utilize training techniques that are interactive and offer participants an opportunity to reflect.
  • Collaborate with other technical assistance service providers in all aspects of design, delivery, and evaluation of training and services, when applicable.
  • Support child care program directors' professional growth through discussion, reflection, and feedback towards development of their business management knowledge, skills, and capacity.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on session activities.
  • Use independent judgment and discretion in setting daily priorities to complete tasks and meet job expectations.
  • Identify and disseminate relevant resources and service information to co-workers and program participants.
  • Communicate in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner in all verbal and written communication.
  • Interact with co-workers and the community to build productive, collaborative relationships to support the achievement of service goals.
  • Understand and maintain private and sensitive information within the confines of the agency confidentiality policy and need-to-know parameters.
  • Adhere to the NAEYC Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Participate in regional and statewide meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation, and maintain a good driving record.
  • Submit to a Motor Vehicle Records check before hire and annually thereafter.
  • Submit to a FBI National Criminal History Check upon employment and every four years thereafter.
  • Submit to a Department of Human Services Criminal History and a Request for Child Abuse Information Records check before hire and every two years thereafter.
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, crawl on the floor, and occasionally stand 4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to complete job duties with reasonable accommodation.
