As a key member of our Environmental Compliance team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our wastewater treatment system and the proper handling, storage, recovery, and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with Safety Representative to identify hazardous material documentation, handling, storage, and disposal requirements.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate Hazardous Materials regulations and procedures.
  • Identify hazardous material/waste requirements that pertain to documentation, storage, handling, and disposal.
  • Identify alternative products or processes that would minimize waste streams whenever possible.
  • Ensure that wastewater treatment equipment is operating as designed and monitor the condition and performance of key components.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment processes, materials, quantities, and test results.
  • Accomplish, monitor, or direct the quantities and types of hazardous materials collected and stored and arrange for the legal and timely disposal of products.
  • Develop and maintain a training program on internal hazardous waste storage and disposal procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Arrange for and perform maintenance functions of the applicable equipment as required.
  • Verify that the paint hangar waste production does not exceed the intake capacity of the wastewater treatment system.
Requirements
  • A working knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate regulations.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Knowledge of procedures for the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and possession of associated certifications.
