Housekeeping Associate

Job Summary:
To maintain a clean and appealing guest room according to policy standards at Best Western Plus Zion Crossroads. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and comfort for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Change bed linen daily to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Vacuum carpeting to prevent dust and dirt accumulation.
• Dust all furniture, including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, and dressers, to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from mirrors, shiny surfaces, windows, and other areas to ensure a spotless room.
• Thoroughly clean the bathroom area, including the shower stall, sink, floor, toilet, and other fixtures, to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Ensure that the standard room set-up is complied with, including the arrangement of furniture and amenities.
• Report immediately any damage found in a room to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Report immediately any missing items in the room to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Report immediately any personal guest items found in vacant rooms to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Notify the Executive Housekeeper of all rollaways or cribs in rooms for pick-up and storage.
• Take responsibility for the pass key and ensure it is turned in daily.
• Turn in immediately all 'lost and found' items to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Report immediately to the Executive Housekeeper any unusual situations, such as no luggage, no service needed, sleep outs, extra guests, or anything else that may require attention.
• Shut off all lights, TVs, and air conditioners when leaving the room to conserve energy and resources.
• Assist the housekeeper in any additional cleaning chores assigned.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift Room Attendant and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Environmental Conditions:
This job is considered 'inside' as the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside. The work environment is protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

The work environment characteristics of this job include the ability to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate well with others, effectively deal with guests, and accept constructive criticism from supervisors. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
