Job Overview: The City of Bay City, Michigan seeks a highly skilled Civil Engineer Specialist to join its team. As an Assistant Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, construction, and inspection of capital improvement projects related to roads, water, and sewer infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing division budgets and maintain budget controls.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and materials, and prepare specifications for major contractual work and equipment purchases.
  • Perform project planning and scoping, and assist with Capital Improvement Plan development.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and/or manage field data using GPS software and hardware.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Computer literacy, including experience in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Roadsoft, and/or ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Municipal Construction or Design experience is preferred.
