At L&S Mechanical, we're seeking a skilled Trainee Associate to join our team.
Job SummaryAs a Trainee Associate, you'll work closely with industry experts to develop your knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installations. Your primary responsibility will be to support superintendents in preparing houses for stage completion across various trades. You'll also participate in an in-house development program to gain expertise in performing all aspects of each trade.
Key Responsibilities:

- Assist assigned superintendent in preparing trade stage completion
- Transport materials to job sites across multiple areas
- Complete punch list tasks as assigned by the superintendent
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installations and layouts
- Perform detailed walkthroughs at the end of each stage to assess if installations are done correctly and meet standards
- Identify common issues with trade stage installations and inform the superintendent or make necessary adjustments and repairs
- Learn and remain up-to-date with basic codes, regulations, and requirements as it applies to each specific neighborhood or municipality
- Actively check and respond to electronic communications
- Fully participate in the development program
To be successful in this role, you should have:

- Prior experience as a plumbing, electrical, or HVAC helper in residential, new construction (preferred but not required)
- A reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes (van or truck preferred)
- A valid driver's license
- Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with little supervision
- Openness to growth and receptiveness to feedback
- The ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including working in indoor and outdoor elements, climbing ladders and steep stairs, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds
In return, we offer a competitive salary range of $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA with debit card, 401(k) employer match, paid vacation, PTO, paid holidays, and potential for pay increases based on mastery of assessments and advancement opportunities.
