Duties and Responsibilities

Nursing Care:

  • Deliver comprehensive professional nursing care consistent with the care plan, nursing assessments, and client needs.
  • Report changes in the patient's condition to the RN and document these reports in clinical notes.
  • Assess and provide client and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis.

Client Support:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, and linen changes.
  • Engage in open communication with the Care Designer when opportunities to elevate the client's experience and care are identified.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Certificate of Competence and good standing with the provincial College of Nurses.
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one year of recent related experience in gerontological nursing.
  • Current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
