POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Parts Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate packaging and labeling of orders. This role involves verifying incoming shipments against documentation, inspecting for damages, and distributing items to appropriate departments within the facility. The position requires mobility throughout the location, including navigating stairs and various indoor and outdoor areas during the workday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, ensuring items match the provided work orders.
  • Counting and verifying the quantity of received items to confirm accuracy.
  • Designating storage locations for incoming goods and managing space allocation within the warehouse.
  • Facilitating the movement of items to designated storage areas and overseeing storage operations.
  • Reviewing work orders to identify picking tasks and executing them according to specified instructions.
  • Matching order details with picked items to ensure compliance.
  • Operating forklifts to transport heavy items to designated areas.
  • Assessing the quality and quantity of picked items to ensure safe delivery.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring safe stacking and retrieval of items.
  • Documenting damaged or defective items and coordinating replacements per company guidelines.
  • Managing returns and exchanges, adhering to reverse distribution protocols.
  • Ensuring all shipments are properly labeled and accompanied by necessary documentation.
  • Selecting appropriate shipping methods based on knowledge of procedures and rates.
  • Arranging for carrier pickups and maintaining shipping records.
  • Tracing lost shipments and managing inventory records.
  • Assembling containers as needed and routing products to the correct departments.

Maintaining a professional appearance is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Possess a clean driving record.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Demonstrate basic computer proficiency.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent communication, reading, and writing abilities.
  • Be capable of learning business software systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have:

  • A GED or High School Diploma.
  • A one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Successful candidates will have the ability to:

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Write basic correspondence and effectively present information.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires:

  • Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 130 lbs. occasionally.
  • Pushing and pulling forces up to 120 lbs. during normal work activities.
  • Climbing stairs and reaching for items on warehouse shelving.
  • Standing, bending, stretching, and manipulating equipment throughout the workday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels while performing their duties.
