Facilities Maintenance Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

Respond to and manage repair requests from guests. Effectively communicate with guests to address maintenance concerns with minimal supervision. Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and lubrication. Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery. Safely transport equipment such as tools and radios. Identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings. Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as necessary. Ensure that daily activities and issues are communicated to other shifts using established communication protocols. Exhibit proficiency in one technical area, above-average skills in two additional areas, and basic skills in others, including air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building management. Demonstrate solid knowledge and skill in the safe operation of hand and power tools required for maintenance tasks. Show basic ability to repair or replace PVC and copper piping, including soldering.

Perform troubleshooting and basic repairs on various equipment, including plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, and guestroom amenities. Program televisions and assist with general housekeeping and engineering tasks. Participate in surface preparation and painting, perform minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters while ensuring thorough cleanup of work areas. Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system prior to commencing any maintenance work. Display familiarity with engineering software related to preventive maintenance and energy management systems. Conduct mid-level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Mentor and train junior engineers, and fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including conducting readings and rounds.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Adhere to all company policies regarding safety and security; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and accidents; complete necessary safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation to guests.
  • Meet quality expectations and standards consistently.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, support team objectives, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
  • Safely move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with help.
  • Navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders as required.
  • Perform tasks involving reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending and twisting.
  • Utilize computers to access work-related information.
  • Complete other reasonable job duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
