Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' psychiatric states, develop and implement individualized intervention plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Medication Management: Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patients' responses to treatment, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens and making adjustments as needed.
- Environmental Modifications: Identify and remove environmental triggers that may exacerbate patients' conditions, creating a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Behavioral Support: Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to patients experiencing acute distress, using de-escalation techniques and other strategies to promote calm and stability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' health journeys, including notable changes and progress, and report on these findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Education and Support: Offer targeted psychoeducation to patients and their families, promoting understanding and empowerment in managing mental health conditions.
- Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred; valid RN license required (where applicable).
- Experience: One to three years of experience as an RN in a psychiatric or substance abuse setting, with a strong background in general and psychiatric nursing processes.
- Certifications and Training: BLS (AHA) certification, valid RN license, and CPI certification; familiarity with cultural perceptions about psychiatric difficulties and age-specific growth and development.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent triaging, diagnostic, and clinical judgment capacities; superb interpersonal and collaboration abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and resilience, empathy, and resolution.
