As a Horizontal Construction Engineer in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in the construction process, ensuring that obstacles are removed from the site and the way is cleared for construction. Your responsibilities will include operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, roadgraders, and cranes to clear and prepare the site for construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze site information and place grade stakes to ensure accurate leveling
  • Operate heavy equipment to clear and excavate areas of construction sites
  • Spread fill material and transport heavy construction equipment with a tractor-trailer
  • Assist in the performance of combat engineer missions
Skills and Qualifications
  • Maintenance and repair of heavy equipment
  • Identification of soil types and placement of grade stakes
  • Preference for working outdoors
