Job Summary

The Peer Specialist serves as a role model, mentor, and motivator to support guests in developing skills, confidence, and relationships as part of their mental health recovery. This position collaborates with a team of peer specialists, a peer manager, and a crisis team to offer hope and recovery-based support in our drop-in and Living Room programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct peer recovery support based on personal lived experience.
  • Assist with coordinating outreach efforts to promote the Living Room Services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other social service organizations, including 988, hotlines, warm lines, first responders, and medical personnel.
  • Develop creative ways to market and promote the program.
Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of CRSS training preferred.
  • Life experience as a consumer of mental health services and willingness to share recovery experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with above-average organizational skills.
Performance Expectations
  • Participate in mandatory staff training and attend events as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings and weekly supervisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on referrals, community programs, and other programs via the Clinical Campus resource.
  • Remain diligent about checking emails and responding within 24 business hours.
