Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Team Worker to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). As a Crisis Team Worker, you will play a critical role in providing prevention and intervention services to individuals in crisis, working closely with local hospitals, law enforcement, and other community professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide telephone, mobile outreach, and in-home support services to individuals in crisis.
  • Work rotating shifts in our short-term crisis residential services, providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals in need.
  • Develop and implement crisis safety plans, attend meetings, and provide written documentation of all crisis-related activity.
  • Collaborate with local hospitals, law enforcement, and other community professionals to ensure seamless care and support for individuals in crisis.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four (4) years of education and/or progressively responsible experience in direct support and assistance of consumers with developmental disabilities, cognitive, mental health, and other co-occurring disorders.
  • Certification to administer medication (CRMA), CPR, and First Aid.
  • Safety Care, or other department-approved training in behavioral prevention/intervention techniques.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to work 8-16 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, overnights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with related work experience and/or college-level education in the human services field and knowledge of positive behavioral supports.
