Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Roessel Joy. This role involves processing payroll for 260 employees, handling timecards, and providing customer service in a 2-person payroll team reporting to the CFO.

  • The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role and a strong knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and regulations.
  • A background in using payroll software and general ledger accounting principles is also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime for all employees
  2. Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages through direct deposit or check issuance
  3. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
  4. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
  5. Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
  6. Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee information in the payroll system
  7. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and regulations
  • Proficient in using payroll software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and account reconciliation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

About the Salary:

The salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
