Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer

As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer, you will provide high-quality healthcare services, utilizing advanced ultrasonic imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment. You will work closely with licensed practitioners and Maternal Fetal Medicine Perinatologists to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic procedures, including detailed anatomy, multiples, twin to twin checks, and fetal dopplers.
• Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring accurate documentation and availability for licensed practitioners.
• Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate ultrasound equipment, and associated devices to achieve desired results.
• Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination.
• Determine ultrasonic frequencies and appropriate transducers for anatomic areas of interest.
• Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded.
• Verify informed consent for, and assist licensed practitioners with, interventional procedures.
• Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
• Assume responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during procedures.

Requirements:

• Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or equivalent.
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, or equivalent approved certification with current OB experience.
• Licensed in the State of Oregon as Ultrasonographer or Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer.
• MFM experience required.
