Position Overview

The Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at Hamilton College is seeking a full-time, tenured faculty member to contribute to our vibrant academic community. This esteemed position will be filled by a distinguished scholar who specializes in the history of modern and contemporary art and design.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in our interdisciplinary environment.
  • Expand the curricular offerings of the Department by developing and delivering undergraduate courses and graduate seminars.
  • Supervise master's theses and engage actively in the education of aspiring artists, designers, and scholars.
  • Participate in departmental governance and contribute to ongoing curricular development.
  • Engage with the broader Hamilton College community through service and collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. and demonstrate a record of scholarly excellence, including ongoing research and a commitment to publication. Candidates should currently hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor (or equivalent) and be prepared to contribute to the diversity of our academic community by bringing unique perspectives and experiences.
