Job Summary and Qualifications

Intensive Care Unit Nurse

Registered nurses are responsible for providing and coordinating care for patients.

The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to deliver both physical and psychological support to patients and their families.

Daily responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include, but are not limited to:

assessments and reassessments, creating individualized care plans, administering medications, documentation, education, proper maintenance of equipment, and communicating patient needs.


Key Responsibilities:
You will administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
You will provide respiratory care, ventilator management, and monitoring for patients.
You will act as the primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
You will monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
You will assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of your healthcare team.

Qualifications:
RN licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
BLS certification required.
Must obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
Specialty certification is preferred.
One to two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
ICU experience is preferred.

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge, offering a full spectrum of medical and surgical services, including orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also provides obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures, along with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staffed by specialized providers including neonatologists, neonatal nurses, and respiratory therapists, available on-site at all times.
