Position Overview

This role involves seasonal employment, which may vary based on environmental conditions, project requirements, or available funding.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will be tasked with utilizing various hand and power tools for trail maintenance and construction tasks. The tools you will handle include, but are not limited to, jackhammers, chainsaws, gas-powered drills, picks, rock bars, hammers, shovels, and other essential equipment. You will also be responsible for operating a vehicle to travel to work sites and trailheads. Your primary duties will encompass:

  • Excavating ditches and repairing stone walls.
  • Grading trail surfaces and installing water management features.
  • Assisting in the installation and repair of asphalt trails in developed areas.
  • Conducting wet and dry retaining wall repairs and construction.

Work Environment

This position is based in a national park setting, providing a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful outdoor environment. The park community is vibrant, with various amenities including schools, recreational facilities, and dining options.

Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidates must undergo a background investigation.
  • Compliance with the Selective Service Registration Act is mandatory for male applicants.

  • Government housing may be available depending on the location.
