Job Summary

Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a skilled Delivery Driver to join our team in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for loading and delivering products in a timely and organized manner, adhering to all driving laws and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a route plan by referencing manifest summaries, verifying package counts, and loading the truck accordingly.
  • Drive assigned trucks and deliver products safely and responsibly, adhering to all driving laws.
  • Deliver packages to designated areas, rechecking package counts and special instructions, and obtaining signatures from clinic staff.
  • Communicate with branch and warehouse managers regarding any issues or concerns experienced with or expressed by clinics.
  • Ensure the assigned truck is in sound operational condition by scheduling regular maintenance and reporting any concerns to the appropriate manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License and specific Driver's License and DOT requirements may be necessary, depending on the delivery route and vehicle driven.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to differentiate details related to product codes and descriptions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
Mental and Physical Demands
  • Attention to detail is critical for route planning and ensuring accurate delivery.
  • Regular interaction with people and a team-player attitude are essential.
  • Fast-paced work requires multi-tasking.
  • Potential stress related to weather and traffic conditions.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Repetitive motion involves reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, balance, stand, and walk on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching are also required.
