Role Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse Scheduler plays a crucial role in enhancing resident care by facilitating daily living activities and managing facility scheduling effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Adhere to the resident assignment schedule established by the charge nurse.
  • Safely lift, move, and transfer residents as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights.
  • Provide assistance with feeding and ensure residents' comfort.
  • Maintain cleanliness and dignity for residents, including toileting and incontinence care.
  • Create a supportive and safe environment for all residents.
  • Develop monthly staffing schedules in alignment with the facility's budget.
  • Post daily schedules and maintain accurate staffing records for one year.
  • Coordinate staff replacements for absences due to PTO or illness.
  • Monitor attendance of clinical team members.
  • Work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) when required.
  • Participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.
  • Uphold the principles of resident rights and ensure their safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
  • CPR certification is mandatory; a grace period of 30 days will be provided to obtain certification.
  • Ability to comprehend, retain, and execute verbal or written instructions in English.
  • Capability to complete tasks efficiently and within designated timeframes.
  • Flexibility to adapt to interruptions while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Effective communication skills to provide training and support to staff.

Preferred:

  • Two years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing environments.
Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching, with the capacity to handle up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Work Schedule

Work hours will be assigned, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Work Environment

This position is primarily clinical in nature.
