Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team at The Verland Foundation Inc. As a key member of our Dietary Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen and the satisfaction of our residents' dietary needs.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary spreadsheets.
  • Clean and maintain all dietary areas and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Package and label food items for delivery and ensure timely delivery to residents.
  • Set up and serve meals in the Adult Training Facility (ATF) dining room.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment to comply with governing regulations.
  • Participate in in-service training and cross-training to meet department needs.
Requirements
  • Reliable and punctual with ability to work an assigned schedule.
  • Ability to read and understand recipes and special diets.
  • Ability to assume full responsibility for preparing entire meals after a short training period.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained to meet department needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two to three years' experience in food preparation.
  • Ability to drive safely and have a valid Driver's License.
  • Customer service experience and serving experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and stoop.
  • Ability to lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds at times.
