We are seeking a skilled Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team at The Verland Foundation Inc. As a key member of our Dietary Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen and the satisfaction of our residents' dietary needs.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary spreadsheets.
- Clean and maintain all dietary areas and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- Package and label food items for delivery and ensure timely delivery to residents.
- Set up and serve meals in the Adult Training Facility (ATF) dining room.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment to comply with governing regulations.
- Participate in in-service training and cross-training to meet department needs.
- Reliable and punctual with ability to work an assigned schedule.
- Ability to read and understand recipes and special diets.
- Ability to assume full responsibility for preparing entire meals after a short training period.
- Willingness to be cross-trained to meet department needs.
- Two to three years' experience in food preparation.
- Ability to drive safely and have a valid Driver's License.
- Customer service experience and serving experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and stoop.
- Ability to lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds at times.
