Position Overview
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant will deliver speech and language services to eligible students under the supervision of a licensed professional. Responsibilities include maintaining special education records and documentation as required.

Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts License as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Understanding of speech, language, and hearing disorders
  • Awareness of institutional and structural biases affecting underserved communities
  • Knowledge of current educational legislation and regulations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in an urban educational setting is preferred
  • Ability to travel to various locations as assigned
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored individual and group therapy aligned with students' Individual Education Programs (IEP)
  • Engage in team processes as directed by the supervisor
  • Assess student progress and readiness for therapy termination
  • Collaborate with classroom educators to enhance students' oral and written language skills
  • Attend scheduled meetings related to speech therapy
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Adhere to all relevant federal and state policies and regulations
  • Serve as a positive role model for students
  • Foster effective relationships with supervisors and colleagues
  • Communicate progress and needs of students with stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Employment Terms
  • As negotiated with the Lynn School Committee and the Lynn Teachers/Therapists Union
  • 180 days per academic year
