Reading Intervention Specialist

Job Summary:
The Reading Interventionist will perform complex professional work that includes planning, coordinating, organizing, and analyzing assessment data to provide real-time push-in and pull-out research-based interventions in the core curricular areas for identified students in a Title I school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement research-based interventions to meet the learning needs of identified students.
- Analyze assessment data to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to provide support and resources for students.
- Stay up-to-date on current developments, research, and new technology in reading instruction.
- Communicate with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress.
- Model professional, moral, and ethical standards in all interactions with colleagues, customers, and clients.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in education or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with at least three years of teaching reading or English/language arts at the appropriate grade level span.
- Strong academic preparation in the field of English and/or a certification in grades K-6.
- Licensure in Virginia.
Working Conditions:
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
