Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor guides, directs and coaches production employees to safely manufacture high quality products at a sufficiently high volume to meet production standards with minimal waste. Provides work direction and leadership to production employees within the guidelines of standard work rules, union contract provisions and employment policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule production runs to meet customer demands.
  • Achieve production goals at the required level of quality.
  • Communicate with staff to ensure smooth flow of information and product to achieve production goals.
  • Communicate with Plant Superintendent where necessary in order to modify and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor production processes and proactively identify and address barriers.
  • Trouble shoot and problem solve through root cause analysis.
  • Communicate with other departments and help drive better working relations.
Requirements
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • College degree or technical school certificate in business preferred.
  • 5 years of related manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • 2 years of managing others.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • The ability to monitor/assess your own performance and others' to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook to carry out work.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to conduct tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Knowledge of elimination of waste, continuous improvement, S5, Kaizen, Quality Built In, JIT, Kanban, and levelized production.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Riverside, California.

Relocation is not available for this position.

$68,500 - $109,600 / year
