Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our spacecraft team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting prototype and flight systems down to the component level. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and contribute to the success of our mission.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex board designs and systems in a hardware R&D lab environment
  • Develop and execute test cases, performance analysis, test automation, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to procure components, work through issues, and successfully assemble PCBAs
  • Work autonomously to determine and evaluate different courses of action independently
  • Communicate technical information effectively in a highly collaborative environment
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs and systems
  • Understanding of hardware evaluation methodologies and test equipment
  • Experience with I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, and other communication protocols
  • Experience designing modern analog and digital electronics
  • Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout, Altium designer tools, or other electronic CAD tools
  • Knowledge of the PCBA fabrication and assembly process
  • Excellent design and manufacturing documentation skills

Capella Space offers a competitive salary range of $128,281-$169,972, depending on experience and qualifications.
