About the Position

As an Assembly Technician at Astec Industries, you will play a crucial role in the production process of heavy and large mechanical products. Under the direction of the Department Production Supervisor, you will safely perform a variety of tasks to correctly assemble, fit, and join components, per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use tools properly to make or repair parts and products.
  • Collaborate with other line workers in order to assemble products.
  • Comply with all company and industry safety requirements.
  • Accurate documentation, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions.
  • Identify any defective items and handle them according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Knowledge of commonly used mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures required.
  • Relevant trade school or college coursework desired.
  • Ability to correctly use and read a tape measure, and read/understand job-related blueprints, required.
  • Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
