Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support our Procurement Managers at Byers Industrial Services.

About the Role

This key position requires collaboration with our Project Management and Estimating teams to ensure that each job is completed within budget. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all materials and equipment necessary for our projects are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ordering and Supply Chain Management: Assist Procurement Managers in ordering materials and supplies for various projects, comparing pricing and terms between different vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Project Budget Tracking: Collaborate with Project Management and Estimating teams to track and maintain project budgets.
  • Safety and Construction Equipment Ordering: Order safety and construction equipment required for job sites.
  • Data Entry and Record Keeping: Perform data entry to maintain accurate records of orders, pricing, and vendor information.
  • Order Tracking: Track orders from placement through delivery to ensure timely receipt of materials.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in procurement or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to compare pricing and make cost-effective purchasing decisions, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment:

Byers Industrial Services is based out of Franklinville, NJ, serving a variety of industries including Chemical Refineries, Glass Manufacturing, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical, and Pet Food Processing facilities, as well as offering Emergency Service calls to local customers.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $22 - $28 per hour (based on experience), with benefits including competitive salary, health benefits, dental benefits, vision benefits, and 401k with up to 4% company matching.
