Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Select Specialty Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and recovery of critically ill patients.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments to identify treatment goals and develop individualized plans.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement by participating in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Teach and counsel patients and their families on proper techniques and strategies for managing chronic illnesses.
  • Set goals and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
  • Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/PTA students as needed.
  • Conduct individual patient therapy regimens and monitor patient response to treatment.
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
Qualifications
  • Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy.
  • Current State licensure (or eligibility for State licensure) required.
  • Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
