Maintenance Technician

Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic (HDC) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Heritage Point Apartments and Saint John Apartments. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and preventative maintenance, to ensure the upkeep of our properties.
- Assist in the preparation of units for new move-ins, including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Assist in the maintenance of our properties, including groundskeeping and exterior maintenance.
- Assist in the scheduling and completion of contracted work, including capital expense projects.
- Assist in the completion of inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, and HVAC systems.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Current driver's license.
Work Environment:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass annual lift test. Moderate effort in lifting, moving, operating equipment, standing, and climbing/walking. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, dust and dirt. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, fumes, odor, and noise. Seldom exposed to dryness, wetness, vibration, and poor ventilation.
